Marinara

Marinara

Print Friendly

Right, this is really simple. Don’t buy it in a jar, just don’t do it! When you see a recipe that calls for a tomato sauce in a pasta dish, don’t just go straight for the jar aisle in the supermarket – make it yourself. It is VERY cheap (40p?) and tastes so much better and more importantly, only has 4 ingredients. Check the back of those jars, most of them have about 10 ingredients. This marinara tastes great just over pasta, used in a spaghetti bolognese, or even used as the base for a pizza. You can make a big batch of it and freeze it to use as and when you want.

Makes enough for 2 pizzas
