Get a gym membership

If you are trying to lose weight, or get fit, then a gym membership is going to be a great investment for you. Some of the bigger chain gyms can be really expensive, but you can get some great deals at local sports centres or smaller gyms, especially if you are a student or if you sign up for a year contract.

The gym is not the most fun way to work out, I will be the first to admit that, but if you mix it up with more “fun” workouts during the week, then it is a great calorie burner that can aid weight loss and seriously tone you up.

The bonus of signing up for a membership, rather than just being pay as you go, is that it is even more motivation for you to go. If you are paying £20 a month to be able to go to the gym as much as you like, but you only go once a month, then you are wasting a lot of money. That is a big motivation for me (as well as the motivation to be healthy, of course). Even if you don’t want to go for healthy benefits, if you have paid for it, you will at least feel like you want to get your money’s worth. Being frugal and getting fit at the same time – perfect combination.
