Week 2 – Run 1

I was nervous about stating a new week, as it meant pushing myself harder, and I found week 1 hard enough. Week 2 meant running for 90 seconds (instead of 60) and then having a 2 minute recovery (instead of 90 seconds). I thought that extra 30 seconds of running, even though it is not much more, would really make a difference and I would find it hard to get through, but I kind of liked it. Getting through it made me happy as I knew that I was actually progressing. The first week definitely prepared me for it. Towards the end of the 30 minutes, I was definitely getting tired and I was glad it was over, but I really feel like I am getting somewhere. I know it is still early days, but I can really see myself moving forwards.

I did the run by myself as well today. I think it helped that I had different surroundings. I am back visiting family, so I was running round fields that I wasn’t used to running round. When I get back home, I will make sure I run round different areas just to make sure I don’t get bored.

The only thing is, I now have bad knee pain. I hope it doesn’t get worse. Next run will be on Friday. Kind of looking forward to it.
