I was excited what Confused.com offered to send me a fitness goody box (you know how much I love anything fitness related) and I was even happier when I saw what was in it.
As I opened the box, I was greeted by a mound of popcorn – that wasn’t part of the fitness goodies, it was just just as packing, but needless to say my cats loved that part of it and they both tried to get straight into the box to play with it.
The first thing I saw was the colourful measuring spoons. As many of you know, I am in the UK. We measure things differently from those in the U.S – we don’t measure in cups for example. Usually I have to convert everything online for my recipes and it takes such a long time to do every single ingredients. Now I have these spoons I can just measure everything both ways as I am making the recipe.
I then immediately picked out the dried blueberries and opened them up straight away. I love blueberries, but I have never had them dried before. I will admit, they are not my favourite dried fruit, as they kind of taste like tea, but if you are looking for a healthier sweet treat then this would be a good choice.
Speaking of something sweet – there were some Special K bars in there. This is something that I personally never eat. No judgement for those that do, but they are full of artificial ingredients and additives. I am all for enjoying a sugary treat every now and then, but I am still mindful of the ingredients and I don’t eat anything processed. My husband though is less concerned about that, so he enjoyed them. He said they were really sweet.
There was also some green tea in there and although I can’t drink it, as I can only have decaffeinated, they will be well received by my tea loving friend.
I had heard a lot about The Hairy Dieters: How to Love Food and lose Weight cook book, so I was looking forward to seeing what kind of recipes it included. They had healthier versions of British classics – so I can’t wait to try some of those recipes. As much as my husband also loves trying new things, he loves traditional British meals, so these are going to be a hit I think. Of course I shall be making some of my own changes to the recipe though.
The digital scales that were included in the goody box were awesome. I have some scales, but there are not very good, so seeing as I am focusing on my portion sizes again at the moment – these are coming in really handy.
Then, the pièce de résistance was the moleskin wellness journal that was included. I love, love, LOVE this and I can’t even explain how much it is helping me. It is a diary that helps you keep track of everything health and fitness related and has space for you to add your own categories of things that you want to track. There is a section for a food and exercise diary, which is really helpful – especially if you are just starting out. There is a section for personal goals as well – where you can write down what they are and then track your progress for them week by week. I am really motivated by progress (I think we all are), so tracking this and seeing it all written down is really motivating for me. I can’t believe I have been without one of these all this time. I used to track my food and workouts with My Fitness Pal, but being able to track progress and achievements is so much better. You should really look into getting on.

Those spoons are cool. I want some too.
I just found one of those diaries on Amazon and I ordered it. I think I need to keep track of my food as I am eating way too much
I bought my Dad the Hairy Bikers book and he loves it too. He is finally actually cooking.
I need to get some of those measuring spoons – I get so annoyed with converting all the American recipes.
Thanks for the tip on the wellness journal. I think something like that might be really good for me too. The scale is not playing ball at the moment, so being able to track my other accomplishments might stop me from going to crazy lol.
