As you may have gathered, if you follow me on Facebook, I kind of LOVE tea. Fruit and herbal teas, I have around 6 a day. One of my favourite ones at the moment is peppermint tea. I have had to change my diet recently, which has meant that I have to eat more overall in a day and I have to eat more often as my blood pressure and blood sugar is too low. Whilst having to eat more, for your health, might sound like a great thing, for someone who is pretty strict with their diet, it is hard to get the hang of. Eating more does not of course mean eating food that is bad for you, but it is still more food than I am used to. But it’s for my health, and I think it’s working – so that’s good. Because of this increase in food, and having to include more salt, it is playing havoc with my digestion and has made me uber bloated. I could pass as a pregnant lady some days. The answer to all my problems? Peppermint tea!
Peppermint is great for any kind of digestion/indigestion problems and a must if you suffer from IBS! If you are having any kind of abdominal pain or nausea, try some peppermint tea before you hit the medicine cupboard, it will work a treat. It is also caffeine-free and very refreshing and as with all fruit and herbal teas, it is amazing for easing stress!
Add a box to your trolley next time you go shopping and when you get a stomach ache, give it a try.
