Friday Favourites: Sunflower Seeds

by Dannii on September 2, 2011

I bought a MASSIVE pack of these a week or so ago and have kept them in the kitchen to snack on. When I make food, I always end up picking at food, so sunflower seeds are a great choice for this. I also find they are good at stopping hunger until a meal time.

Other ways to use them are sprinkled over cereal or salad, making sunflower seed bread, mixed into muffin recipes, used to top yogurt.

They are really good for you too. Full of vitamin B5, B1, E and folate and a good source of magnesium. They are also full of healthy fats that will help protect your heart, making them a great choice. It goes without saying, don’t buy flavoured or salted sunflower seeds, as they will be high in salt.

Give them a try, if you haven’t before!
