Healthy Valentine's Day Treats

I am sure you are all well aware that it is Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Whether you are loved up or single, there are some recipes here for you to enjoy.

There seems to be a split when it comes to people’s opinion of Valentine’s Day. Some go all out with the red roses and the candlelit dinner and some completely shun it and think it is a money making scheme. Some, including myself, fall somewhere in the middle.

Of course you don’t need one day a year to show someone how much you love them. But at the same time, why not use the day as an excuse to show them even more. For my husband and I, we see Valentine’s Day as just an excuse to be even more romantic. Sometimes we go out, and sometimes we have a nice meal at home, but what we always do is use it as a reminder of how lucky we are.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about couples. It is about love! Spend it with a friend or a family member. It also doesn’t have to be about anyone expect you. Loving yourself is one of the most important things, so perhaps use tomorrow to be a day all about you. Pamper yourself.

Chocolate and Valentine’s Day kind of go hand in hand. Well, if the advertising has anything to say about it. That doesn’t mean you have to stuff yourself with boxes of chocolates. Make your loved one, or even yourself, a healthy chocolate dessert this year. Here are some to get you started:

Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Healthy Chocolate Dessert

Nut Butter Brownies

Chocolate Pie

Brownie Bites

Flourless Chocolate Brownies

Chocolate and Almond Butter Oat Cookies

Chocolate Banana Pops

What are you doing for Valentine’s Day?

I make your raw brownies at least once a week and my little boy LOVES them. It is so nice to know that I can still give him a treat and not worry about what is in it.

I use seed butter though, as he is allergic to nuts.

The chocolate pie looks really nice. I hope my boyfriend doesn’t realise it is healthy.

I have no idea what we are doing, my husband is planning something and he won’t tell me what. If it is McDonalds I won’t be happy lol

I am happily single at the moment, and so are all of my girlfriends (that hasn’t happened for a few years), so we are all going out for a meal together. Who says V-day is just for couples?
