Anyone who is serious about fitness knows that good shoes are really important. They support your workouts in so many ways, but they also prevent injuries. It is best to go and actually get your shoes fitted in a running shop, so you know the ones you have are right for you.
I am always on the lookout for great new running shoes. Whilst I know workouts are not fashion shows, nice looking shoes are important too. So when Helly Hansen offered to send me a pair of their new Pace Interceptor shoes, after reading all about them in the press release and seeing how pretty they were, I couldn’t wait to try them out.
Whilst I am used to only running inside, I am trying to get myself in to outside running, on different terrain, as it is more challenging. The ground is uneven, you have different weather conditions to face – let’s face it, it is very different from a treadmill.
I didn’t do a full outside run today, as I am still working my way up, but I ran 1.5km and I just love how the shoes feel. You know when you get new running shoes, they can sometimes be uncomfortable for the first few runs whilst you break them in? Well I didn’t have that at all with these – they are super comfy. I also love how breathable they are, so your feet don’t get sweaty. Although that is not so much of an issue with the weather as it is now, come summer that will be perfect.
The grip on the bottom is great too. I would definitely trust these shoes running over rocks or slippery surfaces, which is really important for me as I can be pretty clumsy.
I will be interested to see how long these shoes last me as well, as a good pair of running shoes shouldn’t wear out after a few months. With running shoes, I really think you get what you pay for and if you are serious about fitness, then investing in a good pair of shoes like these are definitely worth it.
Here is some info from the press release telling you what the shoe is all about:
