I don’t think I need to tell you how important it is to make sure you are drinking enough water do I? I do? Okay, well it is really important. There are some numbers out there telling you how many glasses of water everyone needs to be drinking a day, but that is like someone saying how many calories everyone needs to be eating a day – it depends on the individual. How much water you should be drinking depends on the climate you live in and how active you are. I suggest listening to your body and drinking water when you are thirsty. Drinking too much water can also be bad for you.
I love water. It is my favourite drink in the entire world (I know what you are thinking – what is the second? It *might* be wine). I personally drink about 10 glasses a day and I never get bored of it, but I know that is not the same for a lot of you. Many of my health coaching clients say they just get bored of water and find it hard to cut back on fizzy drinks and fruit juice because they don’t like the taste of water.
Firstly I suggest try adding lemon or lime juice to water to make it a bit more interesting. Adding some chopped mint to it can give it an extra kick too.
But there are some fruit drinks out there that you can add to water to make it much more exciting and a way for you to get part of your 5 a day too.
