TV Adverts Workout

Let’s face it, the adverts on TV are pretty much dull anyway, so sitting there waiting for your favourite show to come back on is just wasted time, right? Why not make the most of that time and do a mini workout. 3 minutes every 20 minutes might not seem like a lot, but it will really add up. Trust me, you will be feeling those squats in no time!

The idea is to do as many rounds of the workout below during the adverts. Even better, why not get your whole family, or your friends, involved and see who can do the most (whilst still keeping good form of course). I have also posted links to what each of the moves are below.

Fitness isn’t about going for 5km runs every day or killing it in the gym, it is about doing what you can with what you have. Relaxation is important too, and if you choose to relax in front of the TV, then make the most of that time without work or other commitments and fit in a small workout. It all counts. If you already have a really good workout routine, then don’t push yourself to do more than you should – rest is important. But, if you are not very good at motivating yourself to workout, this is a great place to start. Just a few mini workouts each day and you will notice the difference.

I rarely watch TV nowadays, but will quite happily get some situps or pressups in with a film on in the background.

TV is so crap now isn’t it! Although, I haven’t seen a good film in a while either.

Great workout! Thing is, I don’t watch much TV and when I do I fast forward the adverts! But I could always do this workout at another time.

Do it whilst waiting in line for something haha

I was thinking something along those lines Dannii – I need to motive myself more and 10 of something sound much much easier.

Such a great idea to get the most out of the TV ads. I think people worry that if they don’t work out for an hour then there’s no point. I’m all about quality over quantity.

Exactly! I can get more out of a 20 minute workout than some people do out of a 2 hour one.

Hi Dannii

That’s a fab idea for fitting some exercises in and
making the most of your time.

I often get bored in the adverts so think that short
mini workouts in the breaks will work well.

I will give them a try and let you know how I get on.

Thanks

Kay

What a great idea! I don’t watch telly that much, only few cooking shows online when I have time, but if I start watching it more often it will be good thing to practice while there’s an advert!

Cooking shows are my guilty pleasure too. I could have them on all day.

Fantastic idea – I’m in. I will get my kids involved too, as we could all do with being a bit more active.

Yes, get everyone involved!

Could I do modifications of the moves? As I am not very fit at all and I am not sure I can do the “proper” way of each.

Reply

20 Dannii

Yes, of course. Take it at your own pace.

You could even add on to it something like, every time a food advert comes on, hold a plank until it has finished.

22 Dannii

That is a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Not all adverts are bad. They are a lot better than they used to be. But I do agree, it is wasted time. Great idea!

That’s true – there are some funny ones out there.
