I am big on snacking – always have been. The difference now is that I mainly snack on fruit and vegetables rather than the junk that I would constantly snack on all day. Snacking sometimes gets a bad reputation, but I definitely think that snacks should be part of a healthy lifestyle, just be mindful of the kinds of snacks that you are choosing.

As part of the AXA PPP healthcare 52 little things changes I am making over the year, this weeks challenge is to make a healthy snack swap. Their suggestion is to swap crisps for popcorn (just watch out for added sugar and salt – best to make your own), so I thought I would share with you some of my healthy snack swaps too (the ones underlined are recipes – click them and they will open in a new tab).
Swap crisps for kale crisps
Swap milk chocolate for dark chocolate
Swap sweets for fresh fruit
Swap a ice cream milkshake for a fruit and cocoa smoothie
Swap crisps and dips for veggie sticks and hummus
Swap a chocolate bar for homemade fudge brownies
Swap store bought chocolate pudding for healthy chocolate pudding
Swap a cappuccino for a green tea
Swap cookies for homemade healthy 2 ingredient cookies
