If you follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, or just heard my excitement from 100 miles away, then you will have already heard the news. But if you missed it, then there is going to be a Hungry Healthy Happy BOOK!!!!!
That’s right…..I am going to be a published author.
It has been in the works for a few weeks now, but had to wait until everything was finalised before I could announce it. Well, I signed with Jacqui Small Publishing a couple of days ago, so it is all official now.
Hungry Healthy Happy (that’s the working title) will be out Spring 2016, so the next year is going to be a busy one. It is a food and lifestyle book that will talk about my 100lb weight loss, include lots of health, fitness and weight loss advice, as well as nearly 100 new recipes that won’t be on the blog.
What changes does that mean for the blog? None! I am not going to stop posting free recipes on here or start charging for the blog or anything like that. There will just be 100 amazing new recipes that I have been holding back from the blog to go in the book. They will be my best recipes yet and healthy alternatives to ALL your favourite comfort foods.
Writing a book has always been my dream and there is so much of my story that I haven’t shared on the blog that will flow much better in a book and I can’t wait to share that with you all.
Jacqui Small is going to be the perfect fit for my book I think and I can’t wait to see where it goes. I also want to thank my incredible agent, Jane, at Graham Maw Christie for believing in my book.
So, last night we went out and celebrated. Naturally we started off at a champagne bar, because what is a celebration without champagne? Look how much Dave’s beard has grown. It’s going to need its own postal address soon I think.
Champagne makes me hungry. Actually, everything makes me hungry. Did you know that I like food? So we headed to a Cuban restaurant/bar because Cuban food rocks and Cuban people like rum….which means cocktails. Also an excellent way to celebrate.
We got some tapas bits to share because sharing food is the best kind of food I think. We got some taquitos, pulled pork tacos and spinach and feta empanadas. It came with a rum dipping sauce too. Rum in everything!
The cocktail menu in Cuba De Revolution is awesome and because I am easily persuaded, I went for the one at the top of the menu – a black forest mojito. Think of a black forest cake, with rum. It even came with it’s own cinnamon stick. Don’t try using a cinnamon stick as a straw. That didn’t work out too well.
Just because I am super cool and hardcore, we came home fairly early (admittedly to drink some more champagne) and I put my onsie on. I admit it, I love onsies. They are just so comfortable!
I did a bit too much celebrating last night and I’m feeling fragile this morning. Luckily I stuck to my rule of a glass of water for every glass of champagne, so I am not feeling as bad as I could. Nothing a Super Green Smoothie won’t sort out.
