The day has arrived! My new book, The Healthy Slow Cooker, is now on sale and I am very excited for you to all see it. 100 healthy slow cooker recipes showing that there is more to slow cookers than stew and casserole.
There will still be some of the stews and casseroles you know and love, but lots of modern twists on slow cooking – many of which you can see in the photos in this post. Nearly half of the recipes are vegetarian too, as slow cookers have a reputation of being all about meat and we wanted to bust that myth.
Healthy Slow Cooker Recipes
What makes these recipes healthy? When using meat we have tried to use the leanest cuts and just enough to flavour the dish rather than making the dish all about meat. Sauces have been lightened so the dishes are lower in calories and fat compared to the traditional version. We have also packed as many vegetables as possible in to these dishes.
I am really proud of The Healthy Slow Cooker book, as not only have we come up with all the recipes, but we photographed them all ourselves too. We put everything into this book as we are passionate about slow cookers and how much time they can save you. We wanted to show how versatile they are.
In this book you will find recipes like Breakfast Burritos, Lean Beef Curry, Tomato and Basil Soup, Burrito Bowls, Mushroom Stroganoff, Greek Chicken, Lamb Pittas and so much more!
It’s not just about main meals though – we have made Banana Bread in the slow cooker, Coconut Hot Chocolate, pumpkin spiced lattes, Spicy Almonds, and Apple Chai Lattes.
If you are trying to cut back on takeaways, then these healthy slow cooker recipes have got you covered. In this book you will find Beef and Broccoli, Chicken Korma, Egg “Fried” Rice, Jerk Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Leafy Green Madras and Sweet and Sour Chicken.
